New "toy": finaly got myself a telefoto zoom

It took me a while before purchasing my own tele zoom.
After a lot of thinking and doubting I've cut the knot and went for non less than the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS II.
Why?
Well, first you should know, I'm not much of a gear-head. I don't enjoy spending much money on gear nor do I find it necessary to do so.
For example, I don't own a 50mm f/1.2, but have the much cheaper f/1.8.
Neither have I got a pair of Pocket-wizards. Nope.. I use a Cactus system.
No fixed f/2.8 standard zoom either, but a Sigma 18-50 f/2.8-f/4.5.
What made me go for the top of the line 70-200mm Canon glass?
Unmached shapness (I looked at the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 OS aswell) and AF speed that makes your eyes bleed. Build quality is second to none. And many many other details that really make it worth its extra cost.
More about all that later. First things first:

Unboxing it:
