Canon 70-200 f/2.8 L IS II General overview




Right after unboxing this bazooka, it's time to take a closer look at its build quality, feel and general appearance.

New "toy": finaly got myself a telefoto zoom

It took me a while before purchasing my own tele zoom.
After a lot of thinking and doubting I've cut the knot and went for non less than the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS II.
Why?
Well, first you should know, I'm not much of a gear-head. I don't enjoy spending much money on gear nor do I find it necessary to do so.
For example, I don't own a 50mm f/1.2, but have the much cheaper f/1.8.
Neither have I got a pair of Pocket-wizards. Nope.. I use a Cactus system.
No fixed f/2.8 standard zoom either, but a Sigma 18-50 f/2.8-f/4.5.
What made me go for the top of the line 70-200mm Canon glass?
Unmached shapness (I looked at the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 OS aswell) and AF speed that makes your eyes bleed. Build quality is second to none. And many many other details that really make it worth its extra cost.

Kampement van het Zigghense Demervolk te Averbode 2012

21/22 April is het weer aan het Zigghense Demervolk om hun tenten op te slaan op de scoutsterreinen te Averbode.
Verschillende standen met oude ambachten waren er te bewonderen, maar ook zwaardvechten, boogschieten en kannonen werden boven gehaald om de (duistere?) middeleeuwen tot leven te wekken.
